A Long Beach interactive/marketing agency setup a digital message board on the side of a building, overlooking the TED 2010 conference. This message board is linked to hash tag #TEDLBC on twitter, and displays tweets from 100 feet up visible on the street below. Anyone who tweets to this tag can send a message to TED attendees. The software controlling this filters out your dirtier comments, but keep it clean anyway. The board lights up at night – 5:30pm – 11:00pm Pacific time. The first night it ran, it was a mix of classy welcomes, shout-outs, and a few more interesting tweets such as “Welcome Elitist Nerds.” Not sure what to expect when Bill Gates arrives.
