I heard a loud screech outside the studio yesterday and went to investigate. I found this neighbor up in a tree, screeching away and enjoying the beautiful afternoon. This is one of several Red-tailed hawks (Buteo jamaicensis) that lives in the area and can be seen often flying high over the canyon below. It was a treat to watch this beautiful bird for a good fifteen minutes just hanging out. Then if was off to soar the skies above and continue the enjoyment of the day.
