Visiting the Getty Center
Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of taking my Environmental Graphic Design class to the Getty Center Museum in LA again to learn more about their design and exhibits. We where privileged to get a behind the scene tour from one of my past students, Clyde Crossan, who is working in the exhibit design department. The class got a first hand explanation into the long and detailed process that the Getty puts into each of their exhibits. The Getty is a unique museum that has a vast collection and numerous special exhibits each year. The Getty not only display the works in a beautiful fashion but explore the works, artist and photographers with an educational background so you leave with a better understanding of the process and history. My thanks go out to Clyde and the staff at the Getty for giving us this chance to look around and learn. If you are in the Los Angeles area, be sure to put the Getty on your must see list. You will be amazed at the collection and the beautiful buildings designed by Richard Meier.
